When sending confidential or sensitive attachments over email—such as copies of physical checks—you have the option to password-protect these attachments. Recipients will be prompted to enter the password you create before being able to open PDFs or other files attached to the email.

Note: You only have the option to password-protect emails that contain attachments.

Creating a Password

  1. Select Design Studio from the left sidebar. From there, you can either draft a New Email or Edit an existing email template from the Email tab.

  2. In the Email Template Creator, if you select an Email Type that is compatible with password protection, the Enable password protection checkbox will appear above the email text section.

  3. Select the checkbox. You will then have the option to designate an attachment password. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long, and you can click the eye icon to toggle password visibility.

  4. To save your password, select the Create Email button if you are creating a new email template or the Update Email button if you are editing an existing email template.

Changing a Password

You can change the password associated with your email at any time. Simply open the desired email template from the Email Tab in the Design Studio and select Change Password.

The Reset Attachment Password window will appear and you will be prompted to create and confirm your new password. Select Change Password to finalize the update.
